When life is unclear - wander.
Goals - missions - objectives all have one thing in common. They can be completed. This is the life of a pilgrim. Headed to a specific place.
An example of a pilgrim today is when a faithful Muslim participates in The Hajj. This is a pilgrimage to Mecca. It is a journey filled with symbolism that ultimately is to bring them closer to the divine.
And yet not everything can have a clear ending or goal. Sometimes it’s about leaving what is comfortable and wandering.
Jesus Christ wandered
Mohammed wandered
The Buddha wandered
Wandering is looking for something which is unclear and undefined.
Someone who wanders today is someone who gets labeled as not living up to their potential. Wasting time and wasting away.
Not all periods of life are full of clarity with complete goals.
Learning from those listed above they wandered not with a specific purpose but with a set of principles with them. Meaning they separated themselves from others and fasted, prayed, and meditated.
Living without goals can be frustrating, like swimming through muddy waters. When this happens, embrace it. Invite the divine through prayer, fasting, and mediation then allow yourself to wander.
