Day 208
- Principle: Special witnesses of Jesus Christ have a special message.
- Book of Mormon Reading: Alma 41:1 - 41:15
- Harold B. Lee taught:
- “There is no truth more plainly taught in the Gospel than that our condition in the next world will depend upon the kind of lives we live here” (Decisions for Successful Living [1973], 164).
- What is the special message being shared in these verses?
- Glenn L. Pace said:
- "There are absolute truths of eternity. They do not change as a society drifts from them. No popular vote can change an absolute, eternal truth. Legalizing an act does not make it moral. Don’t be fooled by the argument ‘Everybody’s doing it.’ Your spirit should be offended and your intelligence insulted by such reasoning
"When all of the evidence is in, the world’s graduate school of hard knocks will teach what you … were taught in the kindergarten of your spiritual training, ‘Wickedness never was happiness’ (Alma 41:10)” (in Conference Report, Oct. 1987, 50; or Ensign, Nov. 1987, 40)

- Harold B. Lee taught:
- Jesus Christ was transfigured before Peter, James, and John. Read about the even in
- Why do you think Peter, James, and John were apart of this experience? What were they better prepared to do?
- For additional insight into the transfiguration study
- David A. Bednar taught:
- The role of an Apostle today is the same as it was anciently (see Acts 1:22; 4:33). Our commission is to go into all the world and proclaim “Jesus Christ, and him crucified” (see Mark 16:15, 1 Corinthians 2:2). An Apostle is a missionary and a special witness of the name of Christ. The “name of Christ” refers to the totality of the Savior’s mission, death, and resurrection—His authority, His doctrine, and His unique qualifications as the Son of God to be our Redeemer and our Savior. As special witnesses of the name of Christ, we bear testimony of the reality, divinity, and resurrection of Jesus Christ, His infinite and eternal Atonement, and His gospel.
