Day 304
Principle: Faithful prayers open the path for righteous desires.
Book of Mormon Reading: 3 Nephi 18:15 - 18:35
When have your prayers been most meaningful? What changes for you from saying a prayer to praying?
In these verses Jesus Christ invites you to watch and pray always, what does that mean to you? Why did Jesus ask the people to watch and pray always? What does that mean of you?
In verse 20 Jesus says “And whatsoever ye shall ask the Father in my name, which is right, believing that ye shall receive, behold it shall be given unto you.”
Do you believe this promise, why or why not? What do you need to do to strengthen your faith in this promise.
A great cross reference for this verse is James 4:3 and Doctrine and Covenants 46:30
According to those verses what is they key to asking right?
Gorden B. Hinckley gave clear direction about prayer
“God, our Eternal Father, lives. He is the Creator and Ruler of the universe and yet He is our Father. He is the Almighty and is above all. He can be reached in prayer. … Does He hear a child’s prayer? Of course He does. Does He answer it? Of course He does. Not always as we might wish, but He answers. He hears and answers” (Teachings of Gordon B. Hinckley [1997], 468).
What will you do today to improve your prayers?
