• Day 50
    • Principle: Jesus instituted a new covenant for His people.
    • Read: 2 Nephi 9:50 - 10:17
      • In verse 51 and 52 of chapter 9 the word remember is used.  What are you invited to remember and why does Jacob invite you to remember?
    • Read Exodus 24:3–8 and look for the establishment of the Old Testament.  Now read Matthew 26:26–28 and see how Christ came and established a New Testament.
      • Note: testament is translated from the greek word meaning covenant.
      • Paul further clarified in  Hebrews 9:12–15 about the establishment of the New Testament.
    • Watch The Last Supper Bible Video and ponder why Jesus instituted the sacrament and what it means for the old and new covenant.
      • Why did Jesus institute a new covenant?
    • Dallin H. Oaks taught
      • "The sacrament is the ordinance that replaced the blood sacrifices and burnt offerings of the Mosaic law, and with it came the Savior’s promise: ‘And whoso cometh unto me with a broken heart and a contrite spirit, him will I baptize with fire and with the Holy Ghost’ (3 Nephi 9:20)” (“Sacrament Meeting and the Sacrament,” Ensign or Liahona, Nov. 2008, 19).
