• Day 75
    • Principle: Following the same pattern as in ancient times Jesus Christ has called prophets and apostles today.
    • Read: Jacob 1:1 - Jacob 1:19 (Jacob!! Keep going!)
      • Read in Jacob 1:17-19 about his experience being called, given an errand, by the Lord.
    • Following the same pattern as in ancient times Jesus Christ has called prophets and apostles today. Read Joseph Smith—History 1:3–12 and look for similarities in your life as to young Joseph.
      • As a result of Joseph's desire for truth the heavens were opened.  Read Joseph Smith—History 1:13–20 and look for what doctrine is being taught and exemplified in this experience.
    • What words do you use to describe the First Vision to those you interact with?
      • In your experience what does it mean that Jesus Christ is the yesterday, today, and tomorrow?
    • Christoffel Golden taught:
      • “The Prophet wrote: ‘I saw two Personages, whose brightness and glory defy all description, standing above me in the air. One of them spake unto me, calling me by name and said, pointing to the other—This is My Beloved Son. Hear Him!’ [Joseph Smith—History 1:17].

“This experience by the boy Joseph, followed by many other visions and revelations, reveals that God actually exists; the Father and His Son, Jesus Christ, are two separate and distinct beings; man is created in the image of God; our Heavenly Father is literally the Father of Jesus Christ; God continues to reveal Himself to man; God is ever near and interested in us; and He answers our prayers” (“The Father and the Son,” Ensign or Liahona, May 2013, 100).
