  • Jesus Christ, Only Begotten Son

    • only begotten of the Father … full of grace and truth, John 1:14.

      • 14 And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth.

    • God … the only begotten Son … he hath declared him, John 1:18.

      • 18 No man hath seen God at any time; the only begotten Son, which is in the bosom of the Father, he hath declared him.

    • God … gave his only begotten Son, John 3:16 (D&C 20:21).

      • 16 ¶ For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.

      • 21 Wherefore, the Almighty God gave his Only Begotten Son, as it is written in those scriptures which have been given of him.

    • God sent his only begotten Son into the world, 1 Jn. 4:9 (D&C 49:5).

      • 9 In this was manifested the love of God toward us, because that God sent his only begotten Son into the world, that we might alive through him.

      • 5 Thus saith the Lord; for I am God, and have sent mine Only Begotten Son into the world for the redemption of the world, and have decreed that he that receiveth him shall be saved, and he that receiveth him not shall be damned
