cometh Jesus … unto John, to be baptized, Matt. 3:13 (Mark 1:9; Luke 3:21; 1 Ne. 11:27).
13 ¶ Then cometh Jesus from Galilee to Jordan unto John, to be baptized of him.
9 And it came to pass in those days, that Jesus came from Nazareth of Galilee, and was baptized of John in Jordan.
21 Now when all the people were baptized, it came to pass, that Jesus also being baptized, and praying, the heaven was opened,
27 And I looked and beheld the Redeemer of the world, of whom my father had spoken; and I also beheld the prophet who should prepare the way before him. can ye … be baptized with the baptism that I am baptized with, Mark 10:38.
38 But Jesus said unto them, Ye know not what ye ask: can ye drink of the cup that I drink of? and be baptized with the baptism that I am baptized with?
I saw the Spirit descending … it abode upon him, John 1:32.
32 And John bare record, saying, I saw the Spirit descending from heaven like a dove, and it abode upon him.
in Bethabara … he should baptize with water, 1 Ne. 10:9.
9 And my father said he should baptize in Bethabara, beyond Jordan; and he also said he should baptize with water; even that he should baptize the Messiah with water.
if the Lamb of God … should have need to be baptized, 2 Ne. 31:5.
5 And now, if the Lamb of God, he being holy, should have need to be baptized by water, to fulfil all righteousness, O then, how much more need have we, being unholy, to be baptized, yea, even by water!
